Denise Johnson

Denise Joan Johnson, 63, South Bend, passed away peacefully on Friday at home in her sleep. She was born in Plymouth on Feb. 3, 1954, to Wilburn "Duz" and Darlene (Engel) Johnson.

Denise graduated from Rochester High School and recently attended her 45th class reunion. She was a graduate of Indiana University, Bloomington, and worked as a school psychologist in the South Bend Community School Corporation., She was an advocate for the children she served. She enjoyed going to Sarasota, Fla., in the winter and spending time with her mom and aunts.

Her father preceded her in death as did a brother, David Johnson, and a niece, Alexis Hamilton.

She is survived by her mother; three brothers, Doug, Dan (Terri) and Dean; a sister, Darla Johnson (fiance Steve Mahoney); and sister-in-law Brenda Johnson, all of Rochester. She also is survived by several nieces and nephews, Spencer (Mallory) Johnson, Rochester, Collan Johnson, Fort Wayne, Glenn (Bambi) Johnson, Princeton, Texas, Brandi (Justin) Kneifel, Kouts, Ryan Johnson, Noblesville, Derek (Sarah) Johnson, Indianapolis, Tyler Stoll, Warsaw, Taylor (Austin) Beasley, Tippecanoe, Trey (Genevieve) Stoll, Warsaw, Bradley Johnson (fiancee Brandy Young), Rochester, Andrea Hamilton (fiance Seth Kauffman), Rochester, and Arin Johnson, Rochester.

There will be a celebration of life at noon on Aug. 19, 2017, at the Fulton County Historical Society.

I'm so sorry for your loss! Loved this lady when we saw each other which wasn't very often, we had fun! She had a fun personality!
